Denver International Airport or commonly known as DEN or DIA is one of the main international airports of the Western United States. Primarily, DIA is serving the metropolitan area of Denver, Colorado and the greater Front Range Urban Corridor. Covering around 33,531 acres of land, Denver International Airport recognized as North America’s largest airport and the world’s second-largest airport in terms of land area. More than 35,000 active employees make DIA, the largest employers in the Colorado State of USA.

Opened in 1995, Denver International Airport operates a non-stop service to more than 200 destinations through 23 different airlines throughout Asia, Europe, Latin America, and North America. DIA is the fourth international airport in the US that serves over 200 destinations. As per the 2018 IATA survey report, DIA has held the fifth position of the busiest airport in the USA and 18th position in the worlds’ top 20 busiest airport list in terms of passenger traffic. Each year around 64,490,000 passengers cross the gates of Denver International Airport

Location of Denver International Airport

DIA is located 25 miles driving distance from downtown, Denver. The location of the airport site selected carefully, so the noise of aircraft ignition does not affect the developed areas and expansion of the site can be done without any difficulty in future. In terms of land, DIA is the largest commercial airport in the United States.

Terminals

Jeppesen Terminal is the only terminal of Denver International Airport and has three midfield concourses. Each concourse can easily reach by automatic electric train service.

• Concourse A- Most of the international flights departs from concourse A. It has 38 gates in which 12 gates serve international arrivals. The concourse can reach via a pedestrian bridge directly from the terminal building and underground train as well. Frontier Airlines has the largest presence at this concourse.
• Concourse B- United Airlines is the sole user of the concourse B. It has 70 gates in which five gates are used by United Airways.
• Concourse C- It has 29 gates and Southwest Airlines is the primary occupant with two other airlines- Spirit Airlines and Alaska Airlines.

Facilities of DIA

Jeppesen Terminal of DIA includes spaces for airline check-in, baggage claim, baggage check, passenger’s drop-off, security and aces to gate. The terminal further divided into Terminal East and Terminal West.
