Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is the biggest airport in the entire Pacific Northwest region of the US. It is situated 13 miles or 21 km in the south of downtown Seattle. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is locally known as Sea-Tac or Seattle Airport. It has stepped up to the number 8 in the grade of the busiest airports in the United States, as based on the passenger numbers in 2018. While serving an average of around 136,000 passengers daily, it is a very busy airport considering the fact that it is not that large in area at just four square miles.
The international network of the airport is growing with nine new international airlines that are operating out of SEA since the year 2017, and this growth has largely influenced the recent redevelopment project to expand and modernize and the airport.
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport has a main terminal as well as two satellite terminals, which are- North Terminal and South Terminal. Both of the satellite terminals are well-connected to the main terminal via an underground system of people mover.
Central Terminal- It has four concourses, namely A, B, C and D.
North Satellite Terminal- It has twelve gates (N1-N3; N6-N11; N14-N16)
South Satellite Terminal- It has thirteen gates (S1-S12 and S15). All the international arrivals are managed in this terminal, except those from the airports having customs preclearance.
There are various shops, cafés, restaurants, and duty-free shops situated and divided by the following areas, namely Pre-Security, Central Terminal, A Gates, B Gates, C Gates, D Gates, S Gates, N Gates, and Baggage Claim.
ATMs, local products, Currency Exchange and souvenirs, a massage bar or shoe shines are also available at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
The airport also offers over 15 permanent installations of art and rotating temporary displays. It also hosts different performances of regional as well as national musicians and free Wi-Fi is available at the airport.
